The Highland Theatre, a “jewel” in Akron’s Highland Square, is a neighborhood theatre in an area of eclectic shops, bars and restaurants. Dating to 1938, the theatre seats over 600 patrons. Your movie enjoyment is enhanced by a big screen, as well as digital projection and sound. The art deco décor has been refreshed to include a dance floor, booths and tables. After their beloved Big Momma dies, two weed-smoking cousins race from California to Ohio for her funeral–only to discover she was secretly running a marijuana trafficking operation, and now they’re being hunted by gangsters, dirty cops, and their own bad decisions after a suitcase of rare weed goes missing. With the right people getting into trouble couldn’t be any easier.
